Syracuse Tech Roundtable Presents IAGT
The Institute for the Application of Geospatial Technology (IAGT), headquartered in Auburn, NY, is an organization focused on moving innovative geospatial information technologies (GIT) into practical use for government, education and businesses. With a resume of successful projects spanning regional, national and international scales, IAGT is currently serving practitioners in the emergency management, agriculture and environmental management fields. Come to this presentation and see how satellite imaging, combined with large scale data integration and web-based decision support technology, is providing Mesoamerica with new capabilities for environmental management and emergency response. Learn about the use of GIT as a support technology, enabling the implementation of the National Science Foundations’ largest research project in seismology and geodesy ever conducted in the United States. See how interactive 3-dimensional GIT is being used by local governments in the Owasco Lake watershed for water quality management and watershed protection. And finally, come and see how GIT is being applied in the area of viticulture to support both basic research and practical farm management in New York State.
