The Center for Advanced Materials Processing (CAMP) at Clarkson University presents a Symposium on Materials Synthesis & Processing at the Desmond Hotel & Conference Center, 660 Albany-Shaker Rd. The symposium will cover a broad range of CAMP research and provide an opportunity for industrial scientists/engineers to interact with CAMP faculty.

The CEO Summit will be facilitated by Wally Altes. With more than 25 years of strategic business development experience, including leading his own human resources consulting firm and 12 years as President and CEO of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce, Wally Altes is both known and respected in the local business community. In addition to serving on several boards, he is currently Executive in Residence at the Graduate College of Union University. Wally was instrumental in branding our area as Tech Valley, a name which captures the emerging technological research and development now occurring.

The 2008 Rochester Regional Business Plan Contest is designed to encourage entrepreneurship and advance new, high-growth ventures in the Greater Rochester New York Region. Each of four contest finalists will receive a customized package of professional services and incubation services to accelerate their growth. The contest winner will receive a $25,000 cash prize.
First and second place winners from the Rochester Regional Business Plan Contest will automatically advance to compete in the 2008 Golden Horseshoe Business Plan Competition. This international event will be held in Rochester, NY on May 13, 2008. Participants from several Upstate New York and Southern Ontario, Canada communities will complete for a Grand Prize of $100,000 cash.
The Rochester Regional Business Plan Contest features a series of workshops beginning on April 2 to help prospective entrepreneurs create the best possible plan.
